Beyonce and Jay-Z are all smiles in a lift three years after that infamous Solange bust-up

You’d think Beyonce and Jay-Z would take as many flights of stairs needed to avoid getting papped in a lift.
But it looks like this couple are totally over the most infamous family fight in recent showbiz history.
Bey and Jay were all smiles as they were photographed in a lift at the Angelika Film Center in Soho, New York, three years on from the physical bust-up that broke out between Jay and his sister-in-law Solange in an elevator.
The couple rented out the film centre for a private screening of Woody Allen’s new film Wonder Wheel, and followed up the movie with a romantic dinner date.

Beyonce, 36, looked incredible in a yellow patterned dress over a sheer mesh top with letters reading ‘Unity’ on her arm.
Rocking sunglasses, purple lipstick and loose curls, the mum-of-three stood next to her husband, who wore a maroon suit, trainers and multiple gold chains.

The couple, who welcomed twins Sir and Rumi earlier this year, were far happier in this lift than the elevator at the Standard Hotel back in 2014.

The fight sparked rumours that Jay, 47, had cheated on his wife – rumours which were confirmed recently, with the Big Pimpin’ rapper confessing he had been unfaithful.
The family have not divulged what that bust-up was actually about, simply saying in a statement they had worked through it.

The statement, released in May 2014, read: ‘As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public.

‘They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behaviour throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day, families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.’

Beyonce acknowledged the incident in the remix of Flawless, singing: ‘Of course sometimes shit go down when there’s a billion dollars on the elevator.’
And back in August, Jay said of Solange: ‘We’ve had one disagreement ever. Before and after, we’ve been cool.
‘She’s like my sister. I will protect her. That’s my sister. Not my sister-in-law. My sister.’
