Presidency Reacts To Inspector General Of Police Transmission video, Says it's Fake

The Presidency on Thursday reacted to the viral ‘messy’ video of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris struggling to read a speech, consistently stammering just to pronounce words.

Recall that a video emerged online, in which the IGP, who was in Kano State on Monday to commission the Police Technical Intelligence Unit, was seen repeating transmission, and commission severally.

He later continued, first, apologizing to his audience.

He said, “Sorry, I’m sorry please.”

Eventually, a man in black suit joins him to read and dictate the speech to him, which he repeated to the audience.

To further embarrass himself, he still couldn’t get it right.

Despite repeating after his ‘tutor’, the IGP read on: “Over transmission of, over transmission of, overall kidnapping, armed robbery and other heinous crimes, I mean, ehm, commission transmission, recommendation transmission,” he said.

However, after another failed attempt to get his speech right, he apologized to his audience.

The clip stirred up reactions online as some Nigerians described the development as ’embarrassing and a shame to Nigerian Police Force’.

But reacting to the ‘public mess’, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Diaspora & Foreign Affairs, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the video was doctored by mischievous persons.

On her Twitter page, she wrote, “This video is definitely doctored.

“The error was made once, then special effects used to repeat it. What I don’t understand is why anyone would believe. Well, it’s a Social Media world,” she added.
