Zimbabwean president , Emmerson Mnangagwa, survived an assassination attempt on his life today June 23rd
According to Zimbabwean media , 75 - year - old President Mnangagwa who took over office from Robert Mugabe, had gone to the White City stadium for a political rally . After his speech , he was making his way down the podium when a bomb went off.
The Zimbabwean presidency however says he escaped unhurt. Sadly , two of his aides died as a result of the incident . Watch a clip that captured the bomb explosion below :
