House Wole Soyinka Lived In OAU Turned Into A Museum
The house in which Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka lived in Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, as a lecturer has been commissioned as a museum, with the partnering of Ogun State Government.
Soyinka lived in the storey building which is located in the heart of the university. He was a professor of Comparative literature between 1875 to 1999 at the faculty of arts.
The inauguration of the museum was part of the activities tagged “Ife festival of food and identity” by the Institute of Cultural Study of the university.
The festival was attended by traditional rulers across the Yoruba land and head of some foreign missions.
