Man Charged With Murder Of Britain’s Got Talent Star

A man has been charged with the murder of Britain’s Got Talent star Simonne Kerr. Desmond Sylva, 40, was arrested Wednesday by police after Simonne was found dead at her home in Battersea.

Tragically, it was her six-year-old son who found her with a stab wound and called the police.

Simonne was a finalist on this year’s talent show with the NHS choir B Positive.

She was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after they arrived at her home in the affluent suburb of south-west London at 12.40pm.

Her death sparked the Metropolitan Police’s 90th murder investigation this year.

She was a nurse at Guy’s Hospital, near London Bridge, and appeared on the talent show to encourage blood donations after her young son died from complications of sickle cell disease.

The haematology and oncology nurse at the time told how the performances gave her strength after losing her son Kavele to the a blood disorder in 2015.

‘When I’m with the choir, I look either side of me and see new friends who have been affected by the same disease which took Kavele,’ she told the Daily Mirror.

‘They know the physical and emotional pain of it. We support each other and there’s a real family vibe. When we sing, we don’t just rattle through a song. We sing with real feeling that comes from the bottom of our souls.’

Simon Cowell called their performances ‘amazing’, while David Walliams said the group was ‘inspiring’.

Alesha Dixon said it was ‘one of the most soulful, honest, authentic performances that we’ve had on the show’.

May her soul rest in peace.
