Nigerian Man Found Dead In His Indian Apartment

A 34-year-old Nigerian national died over a mysterious circumstances in his rented flat in north Delhi’s Burari, India, where he was staying, he is an African national, police revealed on Wednesday, September 19.

The police identified him as Jim James who died of drug overdose. However, they’re waiting for the autopsy report back to ascertain the precise reason over his death. No immorality has been suspected.

Jim had been living in the rented accommodation since 2014. The documents that he had submitted to his landowner show that he belonged to an African nation, police disclosed.

“We looked for his passport or any other documents that could ascertain the nationality of the accused but did not find any. We have contacted the Nigerian embassy to ascertain his identity,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Nupur Prasad. (pictured)

The police said that the incident came to light on Monday night when Jim was admitted to a private hospital in Burari in an unconscious state by his live-in partner. When the doctors asked her what had happened to him, the woman could not give a satisfactory answer, said a police officer associated with the case.

“We have spoken to the doctors. They suspect it to be a case of drug overdose. The body has been kept at the mortuary. We are waiting for a response from embassy officials to proceed with other legal formalities,”
