Nigerian Boxer Dies On His Way To Training

A Nigerian boxer, Okosun Godwin has died on his way to training just a week to a major fight next week. Okosun was on a motorcycle yesterday morning when he was crushed to death by a train. Okosun who is also believed to be a soldier was on his way to Myoung Barracks in Yaba.

Before his death, he won the men’s middleweight division at the 2017 Africa Boxing Championship in Brazzaville, Congo. He also became the Army middleweight champion at the Army Games in Abuja in 2016. E also won a silver medal at the National Boxing Open Championships in 2017 at the Brai Ayomnote Gym, National Stadium Lagos.

His colleagues have described his death as shocking and sad.
