Lagos Assembly Passes Tourism Bill Into Law


Lawmakers in Lagos have passed into law a bill for the establishment of the Lagos State Tourism Promotion Agency .

A statement issued yesterday, the bill was passed after the third reading .

According to the statement, the proposed agency, when operational, will advise private organisations, state and local governments on matters relating to tourism, formulation and implementation of campaigns, and other strategies to promote the state, locally and internationally as a major tourist destination .

“It will also promote the state’s tourism industry to achieve the international best practices in the delivery of the tourism products and services. The agency will equally undertake and conduct necessary research for the promotion and improvement of the tourism in the state,” the statement added .
