Liverpool Mount More Pressure On Man City As They Come From A Foal Down To Thrash Burnley Thrice

Manchester City just cannot shrug off Liverpool in what is looking increasingly like a two-horse race for the Premier League title.

Three days after scoring an injury-time winner in the local derby against Everton, Liverpool came from behind to beat Burnley 3-1 and move back to within two points of the defending champions.

Reds boss Juergen Klopp made seven changes to his side and his side struggled to break down Burnley in a goalless first half.

Jack Cork gave Burnley the lead early in the second half, only for James Milner to put Liverpool back on level terms eight minutes later.

Klopp turned to his bench to bring on Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino and the visitors quickly went ahead through a brilliantly-worked set piece with Firmino tapping the ball into an empty net.

Burnley threw players forward in the dying minutes to try to secure a draw, but Liverpool broke up the field and Salah teed up Xherdan Shaqiri to seal the points.
