Don Jazzy Drags Nigeria Customs After Officer Murdered Nigerian Man

Don Jazzy has joined folks on social media in calling out the officers of the Nigeria Customs after the agency released a statement claiming it was a stray bullet that killed an unarmed man along the Sagamu Interchange in Ijebu Ode.

In case you missed how it all started: the moment the man got shot was captured on video by a witness who proceeded to share it on social media. From the video, witnesses could be heard saying that the customs officers stationed on that road began making trouble with the travelers because they wanted N5, 000.

However, shortly after the video surfaced, the administrators of the agency released a statement in which they claimed that the man got killed after he got struck by a stray bullet.

DC Joseph Attah, NCS Public Relations Officer, blamed the witnesses who filmed the moment and claimed that the deceased was a “friend” of the customs. “Preliminary finding indicate that it was during the skirmishes and struggle to disarm the Officer that the riffle discharged and hit the friend of the Customs (Godwin) who lost his life(sic),” he said

But many Nigerians have called this statement the bullshit they think it is. “Corrupt bunch. Y’all killed that man,” Don Jazzy wrote on Instagram, adding, “You shot at unarmed civilians that’s all. So sad.”
