Alibaba Calls Out Senator Dariye For Sponsoring Bill From Jail
Alibaba who reacted to a bill sponsored by Senator Dariye, has called him out alongside the senate after it was learnt that the Plateau born lawmaker still receives his full allowances as Senator and former governor in jail.
Recall that few days ago it was reported that the former Governor of Plateau State now Senator, was among co-sponsors of a bill on the security challenges in Kaduna state on Thursday. Senator Joshua Dariye representing Plateau Central senatorial district who is currently serving jail term, was a former governor of Plateau State between 1999 and 2007, was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment.
An FCT High Court presided over by Justice Adebukola Banjoko found him guilty of embezzlement of ecological funds to the tune of N1.162 billion. His conviction was for 14 years criminal misappropriation of funds, while the additional two years was for breach of public trust.
Alibaba who called out Senator Dariye after his name reflected in a bill sponsored in the senate chamber, wrote on Instagram;
If you are looking for why our country is still as it is, here is one reason. An ex governor who jumped bail in the UK to escape prosecution. Became a senator. Went to jail as a senator. And is still passing bills as a senator, from jail. And still getting his full allowances as Senator and former governor. All hail the Nigerian Constitution that allows everything, once you know what to do.
