Estate Chairman allegedly kills promising footballer on vigilante duty in Lagos
The chairman of Victory Estate, Iba, Lagos state has been arrested for allegedly shooting dead a 23-year-old decorated footballer and resident of the estate, Stephen Benson Doubra.
The incident happened on Saturday, April 18, 2020, while the chairman, James Olu and other residents -including the deceased – were securing the estate against hoodlums suspected to be members of the dreaded “one million boys.”
According to reports, James and Stephen allegedly had a fight days earlier and it repeated itself again on Saturday when the chairman later pulled out a gun and shot the footballer in the chest.
The chairman fled with the victim on a motorcycle, but was later arrested by policemen from the Adoff Police Station.
KING JAMES OLU (landlord association Chairman) Victory estate. You will never know no peace in your life. You will rot in jail and as you made the gentle boy family to morn over him, you will also morn all your children. Ohun gbogbo ti o fi owo kojo lojo aro e, lo ma di nkan ekun fun e in Jesus name. Rest on lil cousinSteven Doubra Benson Legbe we love you but God loves you more. I know that God will fight for you and torment the stupid man that pull the trigger
i have been trying to move on with God on my side but it’s not easy…the man that shot him told him, he will kill and bury him and that there is nothing anybody can do about it even the policemen but guys around him when he was saying it 4 days before he killed him thought it was just a mere threat. Though the man is in police custody in panti but my poor gentle brother need justice…thank you once again for your concerned.
From the mouth of the yputh in your area saying that you vow that you will kill him and bury him and that nobody will do or say anything to it but they thought its just mere threat not knowing you will do as you say. You shot this gentle boy and carried him away till he died in your hand… the only boy in his mum’s hand… You made her cry forgetting that you too have daughters but u ask ur wife n children to run away but even if they run, they can only run away but can’t hide away from the wrath of Almighty God. Exodus 20:5 will surely affect your generation. I don’t pray you die so soon but in your life time, all what you have laboured for, when its time to sit back and enjoy them, someone else will sit n enjoy them on your behalf while u r alive… King James Olu o ma foju s’okun dojo ale ni in Jesus name. Justice will prevail… from inside Panti station where you are right now, you will be suffering hard. Rest in pace. Benson Steven Doubra
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, confirmed his arrest and investigation of the incident.
