Afenifere Chieftain, Ayo Fasanmi, dies at 94

A leader of apex Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere and former senator, Ayo Fasanmi, is dead.

Fasanmi died on Wednesday night in Osogbo, Osun State, after a brief illness. He was 94.

A son of the deceased, Afolabi, confirmed the development in a statement saying: “With gratitude to the Almighty God for a life well spent, we wish to announce the demise of our father, Senator Ayo Fasanmi, at the ripe age of 94 years
