Former NBA Chairman, Olumide Akpata Elected As President of NBA
Former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Section on Business Law, Olumide Akpata has been elected as the new president of NBA.
On Thursday, at around 11:56pm, Akpata was declared the winner of the NBA national elections. Babatunde Ajibade (SAN) and Dele Adesina (SAN) took the second and third positions with 4,328 and 3,982 votes respectively.
18,256 out of 29,636 Nigerians lawyers who registered, voted for the election.
On 7 October 1972, Olumide Akpata was born and has his early education in Warri, Delta State.
He furthered at Kings’ College, Lagos where he continued at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) to pursue Law.
In 1992, Akpata graduated from UNIBEN and was called to bar on 15 December, 1993.
