Kylian Mbappe Unveiled as FIFA 21 Cover Star

Who gets the honour of becoming the cover star for the latest instalment of EA SPORTS' FIFA series is always a hot topic. It's an iconic role offered to a world-class talent, so naturally Kylian Mbappe is the man to take up the mantle this year.

Smashing countless records before turning 22, as well as lifting a plethora of trophies including the 2018 World Cup, have catapulted the Frenchman into a new footballing stratosphere, with his inclusion on the cover of FIFA 21 adding to his accolades.

He said of the news: "Being on the cover of FIFA is a dream come true. From my time at Bondy to Clairefontaine to the World Cup, this marks another big milestone.

"I’ve been playing this game since I was a kid and I am honored to represent a whole new generation of footballers and be in the same group as many other amazing footballers who I now share this honor with.”

EA SPORTS' Cam Weber also weighed in on the news, insisting that Mbappe represents what the franchise is looking to bring with the latest edition of the long-running game.

“As our FIFA franchise accelerates towards the next generation of player experience, we know our cover athlete needs to truly embody both the future of our game and the future of football as a whole," he said.

While the 2019/20 Ligue 1 season has already come to an end, Mbappe is still in line for more silverware this term with Paris Saint-Germain in this season's Champions League; they take on Atalanta in the quarter-final stage.
