“I’m Rooting For Burna Boy To Win Grammys”- Tiwa Savage

 

Nigerian female artiste, Tiwa Savage, has pledged her support for her colleague Burna Boy to win this year’s Best Global Music Album at the Grammy’s 63rd awards.

Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall’ album was nominated for the second time in a row in the Best Global nomination in the music category.

Earlier in 2020, Burna Boy’s album, ‘African Giant’ lost the category to Angelique Kidjo’s reimagination of Celia Cruz music. Some of those moments inspired Burna Boy to do more in his ‘Twice As Tall’. He spoke about it several times on the opening track of the album.

If Burna Boy wins this category, he will become Nigeria’s first Grammy winner since Sikiru Adepoju won with Planet Drum over 10 years ago.

A fan identified as Maliya questioned Tiwa Savage if she thinks Burna Boy will win his category for Grammys. In response, she said, “I’m def rooting for him”.
