Egyptian, Sri Lankan Presidents discuss ways to boost cooperation

 


Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and his Sri Lankan counterpart Gotabaya Rajapaksa discussed on Tuesday ways to promote cooperation between the two countries.


During a phone conversation, Rajapaksa highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and Sri Lanka in all fields and in various international forums, Egyptian Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.


He also appreciated the pioneering role Egypt plays at the regional and international levels and its valuable role in combating terrorism and achieving security, stability and peace in the Middle East.


For his part, Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, especially at the economic level and in joint investments in the ongoing mega national projects.


The two leaders also discussed joint efforts to combat COVID-19 and address terrorism, one of the most important challenges facing both countries.
