EPL: Gary Neville blasts Burno Fernandes after Crystal Palaces 0-0 draw with Man United
Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has slammed midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, following the club’s 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Neville said Fernandes looked “sloppy” throughout the encounter at Selhurst Park as both Man United and Crystal Palace shared a point each.
“Fernandes was sloppy from the first few minutes, and he’s not been at his best these last couple of weeks,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“Maybe there is a suggestion that he is running himself into the ground, and that could be true, but you have got to have things happening in front of you as well.
“And I thought [Marcus] Rashford on the left, [Mason] Greenwood on the right, [Edinson] Cavani in the middle… they all stayed in their spots and when you watch the real fantastic front-three attacks – and even this front-three at times over the last few months at their best – those runs where they are diagonally running across and there’s movement… there was no movement tonight.”
He added, “They [Man United] look worn, I have to say. We know the fans aren’t in the stadium, we know there’s a lot of football, but they did really look lethargic tonight and well off it.”
Man United’s next fixture is against Manchester City on Sunday at Etihad.
