Makinde, Ibarapa Monarchs, Others Meet to discuss Insecurity

 


Oyo State Governor; Engr Seyi Makinde has disclosed that his administration will do more to end insecurity in Ibarapaland and other areas of the state during a town hall meeting at the Eruwa Town Hall, Eruwa held yesterday with monarchs, groups and stakeholders from the Ibarapa zone of the state over the current spate of insecurity in the state and country at large.

The governor who was on a tour to several parts of Oyo State added that the insecurity in Ibarapa has been very challenging and that his administration has put several measures in place to combat these security challenges, including the creation of a Base for Operation Burst in the area and the deployment of more Amotekun corps, among others.

The governor also said that the sincere input he received from Ibarapa residents during the meeting will spur him on to do more to address their security concerns.

The governor also promised to return To Eruwa within a fortnight to launch the construction of the Isaba-Ogundoyin road. He also said he would issue a directive for the Operation Zero Potholes intervention on the Igboora and Eruwa-Lanlate-Maya roads to begin immediately.

Seyi Makinde’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Taiwo Adisa quoted the governor stating that the government will soon recruit more Amotekun corps to deal with the security challenge. The governor also promised to soon tackle the problem of the unfinished 60-bed health facility in Igangan, which has become a hideout for criminals.

The governor vowed to continue to provide outstanding service to the people of the state, said he had listened to the people and that in the remaining two years of his first term, he would continue to assure quality service delivery.
