Saki Igbo community praises Oyo State governor for positive impact
The Saki Igbo community has praised Governor Seyi Makinde and described him as a saint among his contemporaries in Nigeria.
The president of Saki Ndi-Igbo, Nze Patrick Ezenwuba made this statement on Sunday while addressing Igbo stakeholders at the ceremony organized to mark his 20th wedding anniversary graced by the Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on Community Relations (Ndi-Igbo), Barr. Kingsley Ike and the Special Assistant on Oyo state Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Hon. Tallest Innocent.
The Ndi-Igbo leader stated that the two years since Governor Makinde was inaugurated have been fruitful for Ndi-Igbo in the Saki zone.
In his words: “I have always said that Seyi is a saint Governor. I revere him so much because we were suffering before he came into office but we have been rescued in this Saki. You know the state of our roads here before he assumed office, but his two years has eased the pain of the past as our roads are better than what they used to be”
“His two years of free education policy has ensured that children of school age who were out of school for the past four or five years, returned to classes with an even better learning environment. Our children are also beneficiaries of this gesture and we are proud of him. In the midst of the prevailing economic situation of the country, I don’t know where he gets the money for all he is doing but I pray that God will guide him beyond the present term. “
Both Special Assistants spoke as well and congratulated the couple on their wedding anniversary and called on the Igbo community to support the state government in these trying times.
They also affirmed that Governor Makinde was a fair man who gives all residents a fair chance to contribute meaningfully to affairs of state.
