Facebook Restricts IPOB’s New Page
Social media giant, Facebook, has restricted a new account created by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Finland-based, Simon Ekpa, one of the arrowheads of the agitation for the state of Biafra in the Scandinavian country disclosed this on Tuesday.
“Our new Facebook page has been blocked restricted by Facebook,” Ekpa wrote.
MuchTalksBlog had reported that Ekpa had revealed that the secessionist group would soon launch its social media platform.
Ekpa in a video on his official Facebook page, said the move became necessary due to hitches from Facebook and Twitter while disseminating vital information that bothers on the Biafra struggle.
He accused Facebook of stopping him from going Live on the medium, saying the platform is frustrating their activities.
Also in January 2020, IPOB alleged that Facebook shut down its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s page.
According to its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, the shutting down of Kanu’s Facebook page by Facebook Nigeria is not unconnected with the fact that it has become a rich resource for people determined to expose the alleged misrule in Nigeria and the evil perpetrators of the regime that allegedly enthrone a better life for the Nigerian masses.
