Update: Seven more suspected cultists arrested over mutilated body found with Osun herbalist
Seven more suspects have been arrested by the Amotekun Corps in connection with a mutilated corpse found in the custody of a native doctor, Ganiyu Wasiu, in Igege town, Osun State
MuchTalksBlog recalls that the suspect was almost lynched by resident, who accosted and forced him to unpacked the content of his “Ghana must Go” bag, which was discovered to contain part of human body before he was rescued by Amotekun operatives.
A video clip of the scene of the crime showed the suspect bringing out the mutilated body in a bag, as a crowd beat him with sticks.
The suspect, while denying involvement in ritual killings, cursed the people he said set him up.
According to PUNCH, the Field Commander, Amotekun Corps, Osun State, Amitolu Shittu, while giving an update on the incident on Sunday, said apart from Wasiu, also held was an accomplice, Muzzat Wasiu, said to be living with him.
Shittu said seven more suspects arrested in Iwo town in connection with the crime and the two initially arrested (Ganiyu and Muzzat) were handed over to the Osun State Command of the Department of State Services for further action.
“We have handed the suspects and exhibits to the DSS for further action. We initially arrested two suspects, namely Ganiyu Wasiu and Muizzat,” he added.
