Villarreal: Liverpool ready to suffer in Spain – Jurgen Klopp
Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, has stated that his team should be “ready to suffer” in Tuesday night’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Villarreal in Spain.
The Reds have a 2-0 lead from the first leg at Anfield going into the second leg, but the German coach has warned his players that they must mentally prepare for a difficult night at El Madrigal in Spain.
Since the year began, Liverpool has lost only 3 games in all competitions and the German said his players must remain focused and avoid starting the next game on the wrong foot.
“But my only concern is what we do [tonight] and we have to be ready to suffer but not going 1-0 down or whatever – that can happen in football matches – but giving the game the right direction,” he said, according to talkSPORT.
Klopp said his Liverpool side may not be ready for entertaining football tonight but to get the job done, adding that playing the best of football will just not happen in all moments.
“Suffering doesn’t mean you suffer for long, it means you suffer [clicks fingers] and then react,” he said.
