Why We Released 313 Terrorism Suspects In Borno – Military
The Defence Headquarters has clarified the release of 313 terrorism suspects to the Borno Government, stating that it was carried out under the directive of the Federal High Court in Maiduguri.
Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, explained that these suspects had been detained based on suspicion, but upon investigation, no evidence was found against them. Consequently, the Federal Ministry of Justice prosecuted the cases, leading to the court’s decision to release them.
Buba further stated that the suspects were transferred to the Borno State Government for further action by the court’s order.
