Two ISIS Terrorists Arrested By DSS In Abuja

Reports reaching us has it that two commanders of the dreaded Islamic State have been arrested by the Department of State Services in Abuja.

The Department of State Services said it had arrested two Islamic State in West Africa commanders in Kukuntu village, Gwgwalada, Abuja.

According to the secret service, the suspects, Bashiru Adams and Rufai Sajo, were nabbed in Kukuntu village, Gwagwalada area of Nigeria’s capital.

Spokesman for the service Tony Opuiyo revealed that the suspects were arrested on 5 May after special operations on identified targets.

According to him, they were discovered to have concluded plans to spread the ideals of the terror group in the area.

It was also learned that the suspects were planning with Boko Haram to strike in the area.

The DSS also informed that after receiving intelligence reports, two experts in Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), Adamu Hassan, also known as Bale, and Abubakr Abubakar, also known as Alhaji or Buba, were apprehended.

The Nigerian military had yesterday reacted to reports that ISIS has been sending its members to Nigeria to train Boko Haram members.

Brigadier General John Agim, Director Defence Information, in a statement said;

“it is pertinent to state categorically that there is no concrete evidence on the ground to back their claim.”

He recalled that the Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram had in 2016 pledged alliance to the ISIS as a result of our troops.

“The Nigeria Military will continue to condemn all tactics by terrorist groups of isolating the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) from any foreign collaboration”, Agim noted.

“Meanwhile, proactive measures are currently being taken to nip any such development if it exists in the bud.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria wishes to assure all Nigeria that it is up to the task of defending the country and its citizens from every attempt to infiltrate it by criminals.

“Hence, the ill motivated stories, clips and their claims should be disregarded,” he said.
