5 Arrested Over Rape Of Minors In Katsina

Not fewer than five persons have been arrested for rape of minors by men and officers of the Katsina State Police Command .

The State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Wakili while addressing newsmen shortly before parading them said the ages of raped victims were from 4 – 9years old and from various local government areas across the state .

Wakili said of the five suspects, were Nura Ibrahim and his uncle, Sani Haruna who were arrested for conspiring and raping a 9years old girl leading to her sustaining serious injuries on her private part .

“Sani Haruna, 30 years and Nura Ibrahim, 26 years of Unguwar Gambo village, Malumfashi local government area of Katsina State conspired and raped a 9-years old girl. As a result, she sustained serious injuries on her private. Victim was rushed to General hospital Malumfahsi for treatment. Investigation is ongoing,” he said .

The other three suspects, CP Wakili said, “one, Jabiru Ahmed, 25 years of Dutsen-Reme village, Bakori local government area of Katsina State lured and had an unlawful carnal knowledge of of a 4 years old girl inside his room .

“One Abdullahi Sani, 25 years of Unguwar Namama village, Dandume local government area of Katsina State followed and raped a 7 years old girl who went into a nearby farm to cut grasses for domestic animals.

“On 5th August, at about 13:00hrs, one Abdulrashid Dalha aged 55years of Unguwar Dajin Mare village, Dandume local government area of Katsina State lured an 8 years old girl into an uncompleted building and had an unlawful carnal knowledge of her. Victim was rushed to General hospital Funtua for examination and treatment. Investigation is ongoing,” CP Wakili however stated.
