Fearless: Malaysian Labourers Work On Skyscrapers With No Safety Equipment! {Video}

If you’re scared of heights or you work in occupational health and safety, look away now.

Labourers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia have been filmed fearlessly walking on half-built scaffolding hundreds of metres in the air with no safety harnesses.

The first worker in the heart-stopping video can be seen casually climbing around scaffolding that surrounds a skyscraper mid-construction.

He happily lays down a bunch of loose, thin metal poles along the top of the structure to use them as a foundation to walk on, while he erects the scaffolding.

The man then walks to the edge of the frame while balancing on just four of the unsecured metal beams, which look like they could roll away or slip out from underneath his feet at any point.

Another worker nearby is then filmed constructing in equally perilous conditions, before the cameraman casually pans down to confirm there’s no safety drop and that the consequences of putting a foot wrong is almost certain-death.

The full five-minute video was posted to Facebook and sparked a variety of reactions from users after it racked up more than 130,000 views.
Many blamed the project management for not providing a safe workplace to employees.

“Contractor ought to be fined big bucks for not enforcing safety rules and regulations... that being all employees to wear proper safety gear/equipment while on the work site,” said one user.

While others suggested there were no alternatives to the hazardous condition
“They have no choice. They have a family to feed. Even if they don’t, they need the money.”
