29-Year-Old Man Remanded For Allegedly Killing 65-Year-Old Woman
The report gathered revealed that an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday has remanded a 29-year-old man, Ojo Yemi, for allegedly killing a 65-year-old woman, Josephine Ajayi.
The suspect was docked for murder after he allegedly killed the woman and threw her body into a river.
Yemi, whose address was not provided, is being tried for murder according to the report.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor, Insp. Johnson Okunade told the court that the accused committed the offence on September 9 in Ado-Ekiti.
Okunade alleged that Ajayi’s body was later found by the riverside.
He said the offence contravened Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused in prison, pending legal advice from the office of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The plea of the accused was not taken, while Chief Magistrate, Mr Adesoji Adegboye adjourned the case until October 8 for mention.
