Anambra FRSC Sector Commander Dies In Crash

The Anambra State Sector Commander , Federal Road Safety Corps , Sunday Ajayi , on Saturday died in an auto crash .

A source at the FRSC ’ s office in Awka said Ajayi died in the crash that occurred in the early hours of Saturday while returning from Kwara State where he had gone to attend a relation ’ s wedding .

The accident reportedly occurred on the highway leading to Agbor while approaching Asaba, the Delta State capital.

At the command ’ s headquarters in Awka , Anambra State capital, the FRSC flag was lowered.

The Corps Public Education Officer , FRSC , Bisi Kazeem , confirmed the death of the Anambra sector commander in the accident , which he said was caused by the driver of another vehicle who collided with Ajayi ’ s while the driver was doing a wrong overtaking .

He told SUNDAY PUNCH that three people died in the accident while the sector commander ’ s driver was recuperating in a hospital , whose name he did not disclose .

Our correspondent gathered that Ajayi ’ s last outing was at a lecture he gave to journalists on an ‘ ember ’ month campaign against over speeding .
