Fire At Industrial Area In Turkish Capital Kills Five
Five people were killed in building fire at an industrial site in the Turkish capital Ankara, Governor Vasip Sahin told reporters on Friday.
Eleven people were injured. “The injured are under treatment at hospitals,” Sahin said at the site in the Iskitler neighbourhood. All of the people in the building were accounted for, he added.
According to state news agency Anadolu, Afghan nationals were believed to live in the abandoned building. They used the first floor to store paper for recycling, Anadolu reported.
It was not immediately known what caused the fire. Sahin said the paper material might have caught on fire.
