Julian Assange Arrest: Pamela Anderson Blasts US, UK & Ecuador

Former "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson lashed out at the United Kingdom, Ecuador, and President Trump after WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was arrested Thursday at the Ecuadorian embassy in London where he has lived in asylum for nearly seven years.

"I am in shock.. I couldn’t hear clearly what he said? He looks very bad. How could you Equador ? (Because he exposed you). How could you UK. ? Of course - you are America’s bitch and you need a diversion from your idiotic Brexit bullshit," the 51-year-old Canadian-American actress said in a tweet.

"And the USA ? This toxic coward of a President," she said in another. "He needs to rally his base? - You are selfish and cruel. You have taken the entire world backwards. You are devils and liars and thieves. And you will ROTT."

"And WE WILL RISE," Anderson added. She also shared a link to a WikiLeaks defense fund.

Assange, 47, took refuge in the embassy in 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he was wanted for questioning in a sexual assault investigation. That case has since been dropped but WikiLeaks feared Assange could be extradited to the U.S.

The WikiLeaks founder, already notorious for leaking of U.S. diplomatic cables in 2010, subsequently played a key role in Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential elections by released emails stolen from Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta, and other Democratic officials. The U.S. intelligence community concluded in a 2017 assessment that WikiLeaks was used by Russia intelligence to release information as part of an effort to elect Trump. WikiLeaks denies this assertion.
