UCL: UEFA Champions League 2019/2020 Group Stage Draw, Virgil Van Dijk Beats Messi And Ronaldo To Uefa Player Of The Year
The UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE for the 2019/2020 season is set to kick start and the groups decided, the current champion Liverpool have been drawn to play Napoli, Salzburg and Genk in Group E of the 2019 UEFA Champions League.
The draw, made in Monaco, has pitted Jurgen Klopp's side against the Italian club in the group stages for the second successive year.
Manchester City will face Ukraine's Shaktar Donetsk, Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb and Italian side Atalanta in Group C.
Tottenham will play five-time winners Bayern Munich, Olympiacos and Red Star Belgrade in Group B.
Chelsea, drawn in Group H, will play last season's beaten semi-finalists Ajax, Valencia and French club Lille.
Individual accolades were also awarded to the standout players like Virgil Van Dijk, Lionel Messi, Lucy Bronze, Alison Becker and Frankie De Jong.
Liverpool defender was named Uefa Champions League Defender of the year. The 28-year-old was shortlisted for UEFA MEN'S PLAYER OF YEAR Award, alongside Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Juventus forward Cristiano Rinaldo.
The Dutchman beats the two star players to claim the prize after helping the reds win their sixth Champions League title.
Liverpool Goalkeeper Alisson Becker, wins the best Goalkeeper award after a wonderful season with Liverpool.
Barcelona star Frenkie De Jong, won the midfield prize for his performances in Ajax's run to the semifinals,
Barcelona playmaker Lionel Messi, goes home with the best forward prize.
England star Lucy Bronze, was named UEFA Women's Player of the year, having won the Champions League with French side Lyon before helping the Lioness reach a second successive World Cup semi-final.
