Prepare For Floods, NIMET Tells Nigerians
Nigerians living in riverine areas and low land areas have been advised to move to higher lands or other places of safety to avoid flooding.
The Nigeria Metrological Agency (NIMET) has predicted that there will be flooding this year – particularly in Delta State – as a result of heavy rainfall.

Dona Obuseh added that people should stop indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the drains to avoid blockage.
“Accordingly, the Authorities of Local Government Councils in the State, Traditional Rulers, Community and Opinion Leaders are by this announcement advised to step up preparedness against the flood prediction to reduce the level oF destruction of properties and avoid loss of lives,” he stated.
