Four Couples Given 20 Lashings In Indonesia For Having Sex Outside Marriage (Photos)

 

Four couples fell victim to the harsh Sharia Law which is practiced in the Islamic States as they were caned with up to 20 lashings for having sex outside of marriage in Indonesia.

The men and women were publicly flogged in the ultra-conservative Aceh province on Monday, March 8. The couples, wearing face masks, were reportedly checked by medical officials before they were escorted in handcuffs to the rug where they knelt to receive the lashings.

Sharia literally means “the clear, well-trodden path to water”. Sharia law acts as a code for living that all Muslims should adhere to, including prayers, fasting and donations to the poor. It aims to help Muslims understand how they should lead every aspect of their lives according to God’s wishes.
