Police launch manhunt for Aso Rock robbers
The Presidency has said that officers of the Nigeria Police Force are looking for the armed robbers responsible for breaking into the home of a presidential aide, Maikano Abdullahi in Aso Rock.
In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Monday, presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, said the burglar was captured on CCTV attempting to break into Maikano’s home last week Thursday.
Shehu added that on Sunday, May 9th, robbers also attacked the home of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Agboola Gambari.
The presidency noted that Maikano and Gambari live on the same street in the Presidential Villa.
He wrote: “UPDATE: The police, in a related development is searching for a suspected burglar who, as captured by CCTV, unsuccessfully attempted to break into the house of Maikano Abdullahi on Thursday, last week.”
“Maikano lives on the same street with the Chief of Staff, close to the Villa.”
The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
