Covid-19 Disease Will Be Beaten In 2022 – WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) is hopeful that the coronavirus epidemic will be eradicated by 2022.

The disease will be defeated, according to WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesu, if countries reject “narrow nationalism and vaccine stockpiling.”

Dr. Tedros ended his discussion on a hopeful note, stating that there are now many more options available to treat Covid-19.

“Narrow nationalism and vaccine hoarding by some countries have undermined equity and created the ideal conditions for the emergence of the Omicron variant, and the longer inequity continues, the higher the risks of the virus evolving in ways we can’t prevent or predict,” he said.

“If we end inequity in 2022, we end the pandemic,” he added.

The World Health Organization (WHO) first detected coronavirus in China two years ago.

It spread over the world and became a pandemic a few months later. As of press time, there are 287 million Covid cases worldwide, with over 5.5 million deaths.
