Wife Killed, Husband Abducted As Gunmen Attack Delta Prophet’s Vehicle
It was gathered that the husband of the deceased, Prophet Jay Jay Enejeta, who was behind the steering on their way home, was abducted by the bandits.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening as the young couple were approaching their residence in the University town.
According to PUNCH, witnesses said Prophet Enejeta was driving home with his wife, Pastor Faith Enejeta, and a sister-in-law when the gunmen ambushed them and opened fire on their vehicle just as they were approaching their residence.
Pellets from the yet to be identified gunmen reportedly pierced through the window of the front passenger seat of the vehicle, hit the wife in her neck and head and killed her on the spot.
The sister-in-law was also said to have been hit by pellets and presently lying critically in a private hospital in the town.
The husband, who was the one behind the wheel, was reportedly swooped on and abducted by the assailants to an unknown destination.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday, said that the police were on the trail of the hoodlums.
