BREAKING: Kidnapped Kaduna Catholic priest regains freedom after 48 hours

 

Rev Fr Joseph Shekari  of St. Monica’s Catholic Church, Pari Parish, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been released by his abductors after 48 hours in captivity.

MuchTalksBlog had reported that gunmen invaded the residence of the clergy around 11:30 am on Monday with heavy arms, killing his aide before they whisked him away.

The gunmen were said to have carted away N2 million realised from a thanksgiving service.

According to PUNCH, the Paramount Chief of the Chawai Chiefdom, Alhaji Mohammed,  who confirmed the release of the priest expressed happiness but did not disclose how he was set free.
