Court grants bail to El-Rufai amid corruption trial
Nasir El-Rufai, the embattled former governor of Kaduna state, has been released from incarceration after his bail was granted.
The Federal High Court in Abuja granted bail to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain on Tuesday.
Before his bail, El-Rufai was in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission, ICPC.
His bail is secured hours before the commencement of the ADC convention in Abuja.
The development was disclosed on Tuesday by political commentator Imran Wakili in a post on X
“Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been granted bail by the Federal High Court,” Wakili wrote.
MuchTalksBlog reports that the former FCT Minister is undergoing trial for alleged corrupt practices while serving as the governor of Kaduna State.
Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, has described his corruption trial as a hunt and political persecution.
