Super Eagles to play Three Lions of England, NFF reveals
Plans are ongoing as the NFF works behind the scene to secure a friendly match between the Nigerian Super Eagles and the Three Lions of England, NFF General Sectary reveals.

The friendly match is part of the warm-up matches that the Super Eagles are expected to play in preparation ahead of the 2018 World Cup tournament in Russia.

According to Mohammed Sanusi, the general secretary of the NFF;
“We plan to play a friendly against England in June, before the World Cup,”

Mr Sanusi also added that the venue and other details of the match were still been worked out. He further said that the Super Eagles will also play at least one friendly match, in the country’s capital Abuja to show the team’s appreciation for the support of both the Nigerian government and people.

The two countries qualified for the 2018 World Cup unbeaten with Nigeria becoming the first African side to qualify for the big soccer event at the Kremlin next year.

In the recent FIFA group draw last week, England was drawn into Group G alongside Belgium, Panama and Tunisia while the Super Eagles was drawn in Group D alongside Argentina, Croatia, and Iceland.

David Platt header handed England a priceless 1-0 win over the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the last encounter between the two nations in November 1994 at Wembley.
