Chicago Set To Sue Jussie Smollett Over $130K In Wages

Page Six is reporting that the city of Chicago is already gearing to drag Jussie Smollet back to court for failing to pay back over $130, 000 in overtime wages for police officers who worked while investigating his hoax hate-crime attack.

“Mr. Smollett has refused to reimburse the City of Chicago for the cost of police overtime spent investigating his false police report on January 29, 2019,” the Chicago Law Department said in a statement, per Page Six.

And this comes one week after the city ordered Smollett pay up the “money order or certified cashier’s check” for $130,106.15.

He did not pay and now they are riling to go to court.

“The Law Department will file the suit in the near future,” the city wrote in the statement. “As part of this legal action, the Law Department will pursue the full measure of damages allowed under the ordinance.”
