Pogba Wants £500,000-a-Week To Stay At Man Utd

Pogba has been strongly linked with Real Madrid after admitting it was his dream to play for the Spanish giants.

Manager Zinedine Zidane has done little to play down the links when he claimed he would love to work with his fellow countrymen.

However, The Sun claim United want to open talks over a new contract to try and tie him down at Old Trafford, although they will have to meet his staggering demands if they want to keep him.

Pogba is said to want parity with Alexis Sanchez who is the club’s top earner on £500,000 per week.

The World Cup winner is currently on closer to £300,000 and it is claimed agent Mino Raiola considers his client to be in a strong negotiating position because of the interest in him.

United can ill afford to lose their record signing with fellow midfielders Ander Herrera and Juan Mata out of contract in the summer.

It has previously been reported that Herrera has already agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

David de Gea’s future remains shrouded in uncertainty as his deal runs out in 2020 and the club risk losing him for nothing next summer unless they can agree new terms.

Whatever happens with the players already at the club, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to overhaul his squad at the end of the season.

Since taking over from Jose Mourinho last summer, the Norwegian has won 15 of his 21 games in charge but his squad’s lack of depth has been exposed recently by three defeats in four.

A new centre-back remains a priority while Solksjaer is understood to have set his sights on West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

Rice has previously insisted he is happy with the Hammers.

He said: “I’m playing week in, week out.

“I have a special connection with the fans. It’s unbelievable [the London Stadium].

“I love every minute of being at West Ham.

“Being compared to players, being linked to other teams, I don’t really take any of it in, to be honest.

“If you think about it too much you get caught up in it. I’m only 20, you’ve got your whole career ahead of you.

“I’m just focused on playing for West Ham and playing with a smile on my face and enjoying it.”
