Senator Raises Alarm As Fraudsters Use His Identity To Scam Nigerians On Facebook
The attention of Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West), the Chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content, has been drawn to various social media accounts, particularly Facebook using his pictures and name to solicit for applicants seeking work in government and in the oil and gas industry as well as presenting different business proposals to innocent Nigerians at home and in Diaspora.
The senator is by this statement alerting the general public that all such social media accounts and the accompanying solicitations are fraudulent and criminal in nature by criminal elements cashing in on his popularity and visibility on the social and mainstream media scene.
Senator Adeola states that his Facebook account, “Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA” is a verified account and any other account bearing his name and picture are fraudulent creations warning the general public not to respond to ANY solicitation from social media accounts bearing his name and picture in any form.
“I urge anyone interacting with all such accounts soliciting for ANYTHING to immediately report such account as a scam as I will never request for anything from anyone on the social media. On my genuine verified account, those seeking employment/assistance in any form through interaction on social media are always directed to visit my senatorial office at Ikeja with hardcopy of qualifications and requests for documentation and possible assistance”.
Meanwhile Senator Adeola has alerted relevant security agencies to investigate the occurrence with a view to apprehending the criminals behind these nefarious activities on the social media.
