Two Government Workers Rape 13-Year-old In Abuja
Two government workers identified as Salisu Sabiu and Ibrahim Yola, have been arrested by operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons after they raped a 13-year-old girl in the Dutse area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.The Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports staff who lived on same street with the victim, were apprehended by operatives of the anti-trafficking agency after a tip-off by a resident. The two government workers, 55-year-old Sabiu and Yola, 51 who admitted they raped the 13-year-old girl, will be prosecuted under the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015.
The NAPTIP Head of Press and Public Relations, Mrs Stella Nezan, in a release, said, “NAPTIP operatives arrested both workers of the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, Abuja, for raping a 13-year-old girl.
“The suspects, who live in the same neighbourhood with the victim, were arrested following a tip-off by a well-meaning Nigerian who learnt of the dastardly act being committed by the men against the underage girl. Following their confession and admission of the offence, the suspects will be charged to court and prosecuted.”
