Five Men Arrested in Rapper Pop Smoke Murder Investigation
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed last night that they have arrested five people on Thursday (July 9) in connection to the murder of rapper Pop Smoke.
“LAPD Detectives have arrested three adult males & two juvenile males related to the Feb 19th murder of Bashar Jackson, a New York based rapper known as Pop Smoke,” said the tweet from LAPD, adding, “We will provide further details as they become available.”
Recall that the 20-year-old Brooklyn rapper, whose legal name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, died at his Hollywood Hills home on February 19 of a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. A 911 call from a friend of someone in the house reported armed intruders inside the home, police said.
No information on the charges had been revealed as at press time.
