Three Western Sydney schools urgently closed after students test positive for coronavirus
Three schools in Western Sydney have been urgently closed after four students tested positive for coronavirus.
The students - two at Cerdon College in Merrylands, one at Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School in Bossley Park and one at Freeman Catholic College at Bonnyrigg Heights - tested positive on Friday.
All of their infections have been sourced to the Thai Rock restaurant cluster.
Two are also associated with the Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral.
All three of the schools were closed on Friday while contact tracing and a deep clean were conducted.
Close contacts of all of the cases are being instructed to self-isolate for 14 days and seek testing if symptoms develop.
All other children, staff and families of those who attend or work at the schools are encouraged to seek testing.
The coronavirus cluster at the Thai Rock restaurant in Wetherill Park is at least 52 cases.
New South Wales on Friday reported seven new cases of coronavirus.
Six were linked to the Thai Rock restaurant and one had no source of infection.
NSW Health is urging residents across the state to remain vigilant for symptoms of coronavirus and seek testing if even the mildest symptoms present.
