His decision to quit comedy has been traced to recent political tensions in Nigeria. He expresses displeasure as he feels Nigerian Politicians are a threat to his job.

Further confirmation could be gotten from a viral video of a politician shedding crocodile tears. Probably, Bovi feels Politicians are better actors and comics than he is. This makes the ex comedian feel like politicians are a threat to his job, thus his job is being taken over.
