Following Burna Boy’s historic win at the 63rd edition of the Grammy Awards, MuchTalksBlog has made a compilation of other distinguished Nigerian musicians who have been nominated or won the award before.
Burna Boy’s Twice As Tall won the Best Global Album at the award ceremony held on Sunday, March 14 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Due to the pandemic, there was no live audience for the Grammys this year, except for a limited number of performers and nominees. Performers at the event included Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Year of nomination; 2019, 2020. Won the Best Global Album at the 63rd edition.
King Sunny Ade
Year of nomination: 1983, 1988 (Won both).
Kevin Olusola
He won it as a member of the famous group Pentatonix in 2015.
Sade Adu
Sade and her band have been nominated for a total of 9 Grammy awards between 1986 and 2013 and have won four.
Femi Kuti
Years of nomination: 2003, 2010, 2012 and 2013 but has never won any.
Sikiru Adepoju
Years of nominations: 1991 and 2009. Won both as a member of Planet Drum.
