Burna boy slams those who prayed that he should never win Grammy

 

Nigerian recording artiste, Burna boy has come for those who prayed for him never to become a Grammy award winner.

Recall on Sunday, March 14, Burna Boy won the award for Best World Album at the 2021 Grammy awards ceremony.

He bragged in a social media post that he did it on his own and his kids will beat their chest some day and say, ‘Daddy did it on his own.’

He also said he’ll never forget how people prayed for him not to win.

‘My kids will confidently beat their chest and say “Daddy did it on his OWN, We can do it on our own”.’

He added:

‘When you KNOW yourself. NOBODY can tell you about yourself.

KNOW YOURSELVES and never go against yourself.‘

He continued:

‘GOD is most definitely NOT A MAN. I will never forget how so many of you prayed that I don’t win. too dumb to understand that you also win if I win. No worry This is just the beginning. God is Great.’

Burna Boy clinched his first Grammy Award after winning the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category for ‘Twice As Tall‘; his 2020 project.

He is also the first official Afrobeats artiste to win a Grammy.

Equally important, Burna Boy had revealed his disappointment at missing out on the award last year. The superstar artiste had lost out to Beninoise legend, Angelique Kidjo. However, he had been undeterred by the Grammy snub and had re-doubled his effort.
