Traders Laments As Rivers State Government begins Demolition Of Some Sections Of Ikokwu Spare Part Market
Traders in Ikokwu have lamented that their source of livelihood has been snatched away from them as the heavy equipment’s brought to demolish some parts of the market move to site.
Some of the traders told our correspondent that they have no where to go to and wished that the government will give them more time or find a suitable location for them to move to.
They say Goods worth Millions of naira has been lost as they have no where to move them to despite the notice for acquisition and quit notice issued by the Rivers State Government ever since the governor announced the need to build another fly over around the Ikokwu axis to Azikiwe in mile 2/3 Diobu in Port Harcourt.
The appeal to the Government to exercise mercy as the economic situation of the country is such that they don’t have money to rent shops elsewhere and would be grateful if government provide ab alternative.
